welcome to cut human resources. i'll be your host (insert witty stage name here) and here is the rest of the story.
oscars were last night. it was long, my ass hurts, hollywood is stupid, and i can't predict shit. all in all it was a so so awards that had everything from overlong montages to showy musical numbers. some surprises, some not so surprises, and a lot of technical awards that i have no clue what any of them mean.
Here are my highlights....
-Will Ferrell, Jack Black, and John C. Riley doing the whole comedy singalong
-Forest Whitakers amazing acceptance speech for Best Actor.......truly inspiring
-Helen Mirren= the hottest woman in the room....who would have thought
-Scorsese winning, I know it isn't original it was cool
and that's about it really. Ellen did a commendable job and Arkin surprised the shit out of everybody by pulling out the supporting actor award. He still owns the best scene of 2006 for me in Little Miss Sunshine. The Departed took home the top prize and i slept through virtually every other minute. now if you excuse me i'm gonna go and try my interpretive dance skills so that i too can make it on the oscars.
